NOW Today: Thirteen days to go

It’s going to be an interesting day on the campaign trail.

Among the highlights, on this 13th day to go before the election:

  • Rep. Paul Ryan will deliver a policy speech today in battleground Ohio, focusing on upward mobility and the economy. The vice presidential nominee is expected to link the debt crisis in the U.S. to poverty, the latest attempt to close the campaign with a focus on the economy and President Obama’s record.
  • Meanwhile, the President has a very long day ahead of him. He’ll make remarks in Iowa, Colorado, and Nevada today, with a stop on Jay Leno’s couch in between. When he wakes up Thursday morning, Air Force One will have landed in Florida ahead of a campaign stop in Tampa. With the exception of Nevada (and California of course), these are all toss-up states according to the latest NBC News battleground map. (NBC is calling Nevada lean Dem).
  • And finally, there’s Donald Trump, who is promising a tweet today that will make “very, very big” news that could “possibly” affect the election. Rumors have been rampant about what the news will be. Question is, could @realDonaldTrump actually bring a bad taste to undecided voters and backfire on the GOP ticket?

We’ll look at the mad dash by both sides when we see you today at noon ET on NOW.
