New numbers out this morning from President Obama's re-election campaign.
The campaign announced that it raised over $60 million last month, with more than 572,000 people donated to the campaign, 147,000 of which were giving for the first time. (That's up from $46.3M in April). 98% of the donations received in May were less than $250, driving the average donation down to $54.94.
The May numbers mark the best haul for the Obama campaign to date - and it included the successful fundraiser hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles.
More on the Romney numbers when we get them.
