The DNC has officially kicked off, and this morning the top talker is First Lady Michelle Obama's impassioned speech last night paying tribute to her husband.
Four years after being elected President, Mrs. Obama defended her husband, saying he has not changed. "I hear the determination in his voice, as he tells me, 'You won't believe what these folks are going through Michelle. It's not right. We have to keep working to fix this. We have got so much more to do.'"
Mrs. Obama never mentioned Governor Mitt Romney by name, but she drew stark contrasts between the opponents: "For Barack, success isn't about how much money you make, it's about the difference you make in people's lives." She described their families' legacy, saying she and the President were taught "how hard you work matters more than how much you make; that helping others means more than just getting ahead yourself."
Tonight's featured speaker: Former President Bill Clinton, who has attracted fresh speculation about his political motives ahead of his big address. We'll discuss what the 42nd President is up to and look ahead to President Obama's big Thursday night acceptance speech today at noon ET on NOW.
