Tonight we hit the first big magic number of 2012 - namely, 1144.
While Mitt Romney has been the presumptive Republican nominee for weeks now, the long-awaited (and oft-rescheduled) Texas primary, with its 155 delegates, makes it the largest contest of this primary season. Romney is expected to win more delegates than needed to seal the nomination tonight, a largely symbolic event given the general election is well underway.
It does beg a flashback to New Hampshire and Iowa, and those moments when Mitt Romney almost didn't make it. The question now: who hits the other big number of the political season, 270.
