Mitt Romney must feel so confident about his chances in New Hampshire, he’s out today campaigning in South Carolina. But what does it say about how realistic his confidence should be - when papers are still endorsing Anyone But Mitt?

The most recent endorsement coming from the Boston Globe (where Romney was Gov)- lighting a small spark under Jon Huntsman. With Romney’s eye off the Granite ball in NH, and Jon Huntsman starts to pick up some steam, it could add doubt in the minds of some people who have been on the fence about Romney.

And that’s just what Huntsman is campaigning about today. Speaking at his 150+ event in the state, he told the crowd:

“If you’re in South Carolina with days to go before the New Hampshire primary, that pretty much suggests you think you have it wrapped up. And that would be taking the voters here for granted. They want it to be earned, and to earn the vote here you can’t do it from Charleston.”

And now there are signs that Mitt Romney’s South Carolina welcome may not be so welcome after all. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that it could prove to be a “mixed blessing” for both Romney and the Tea Party-backed Governor who endorsed him.
