I am outraged and amazed at the same time!

Clearly the Republican right does not get it and their “ring leader” Rush Limbaugh just confirmed it…again.

In case you’ve been under a rock and didn’t hear: on his radio show, Mr. Limbaugh took his usual attack position and targeted an innocent person. What was amazing to me was that he decided to take this position against someone who was doing what he does every day…express a personal opinion. I know his attacks firsthand, as I too have been victim. After all, I was going to be in foreclosure!

But I digress. Speaking to her own convictions, a young Georgetown University Law student by the name of Sandra Fluke gave testimony telling Members of Congress that health insurance should cover contraceptives. This was her belief and it certainly did not make her a “slut” or a person who wanted someone else to pay for her having sex. Who would attack a student – or anyone for that matter – with such ridiculous remarks and name calling?

That would be Mr. Rush Limbaugh… and again, it simply does not make sense. While Mr. Limbaugh followed up his commentary with an apology – and I take him at his word that this is in no way connected to lost advertising – I can appreciate Ms. Fluke’s position: if she had a chance to meet with him in person, she would not. Because a single brush with this man’s offensive tongue is all the personal contact one ever needs.
