This Sunday in #nerdland: we’re touching down on everything football (be prepared for the puns)!

Although the league has dropped the ball in some major ways this year, we’re still going to eat our hot wings and root for our favorite team.

Our all-star roster of panelists will discuss why we love the game—even at times when we feel like we shouldn’t.

The starting lineup includes:

We will discuss “Money, Media & Football.” We’ll take a look at the billion dollar relationships between big media corporations and the league … and us, the fans.

Then: Unnecessary Roughness. Dr. Anthony Alessi, sports neurologist and and associate clinical professor of Neurology and Orthopedics joins us to tackle the issue of concussions in the game.

And: You Wanna Bet? We’ll toss the ball to Brad Lamm, intervention specialist and founder, who will give us insight into the relationship between gambling and the Super Bowl.

In the second half, we’re throwing it to the ladies! We’ll discuss Goodell fumbling on domestic violence, the growing female viewership and lawsuits brought about by league cheerleaders. Jill Filipovich, senior political writer at Cosmopolitan.com, and Caitlin Y., an Oakland Raiderette, joins us.

All that, plus, “Dad-vertising” and the new star character of this year’s Super Bowl.

Be sure to read what we’ve linked above, and watch Melissa Harris-Perry Sunday at 10am ET on msnbc. Join the conversation—share your thoughts about these issues on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #nerdland.
