Marine Corps seek to prohibit women from front-line combat

Amid growing tensions between the Navy and Marine leaders, the Marine Corps is expected to ask that women not be allowed to compete for several front-line combat jobs, according to U.S. officials. A debate has ignited over whether Navy Secretary Ray Marbus can veto any Marine Corps proposal to prohibit women from serving in certain infantry and reconnaissance positions.
