Demonstrations stretched far and wide this week – from Germany, where protesters stood against the meeting of G7 dignitaries, to Chile, where they called for more inclusion in educational reform, and in Mexico, where people gathered to remember the 1971 student massacre. 

In China, the search continued for dozens still missing after a boat capsized last week on the Yangtze River, while a massive manhunt set off across New York and Vermont looking for two murderers who escaped from a maximum security prison early in the week. 

American Pharoah and jockey Victor Espinoza went on to win the Triple Crown at the Belmont Stakes in New York and Barcelona won the UEFA Champions League in Berlin. 

Weather-wise, heat blazed down over India and Pakistan while floods covered parts of Louisiana, causing residents to travel by boat.
