Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren agrees with GOP candidates Donald Trump and Jeb Bush on one issue.
In an interview with Warren at The Atlantic’s Washington Ideas Forum, CNN’s Jake Tapper asked the senator what she thought about Trump and Bush endorsing the closure of the carried interest loophole, which allows hedge funds to pay a lower tax rate than most citizens.
“It means that even when your ears are stuffed with money, you get a little sound that comes through,” Warren said in the interview that aired Sunday. “Billionaires should not be paying taxes at a lower rate than teachers and firefighters, and that has even seeped through to a few of the rich guys on the other side.”
Both Trump and Bush released tax plans last month and made points to say they would eliminate the loophole, but some still question who their plans will really benefit.

Warren also became very passionate during the interview about a topic she definitely does not agree on with her Republican colleagues: defunding Planned Parenthood.
Warren said the debate is not about the 2.7 million people that receive health care from Planned Parenthood. It's about a women’s access to abortion, she said, even though Planned Parenthood does not use any federal money to pay for abortions. She described the harsh past that existed when abortions were not legal, which appears to be the goal for Republicans.
“When I talk about 1955, I’m talking about a world where women died,” Warren said. “I’m talking about a world where women committed suicide rather than go forward with a pregnancy they could not handle, and what the Republicans are saying is they want to go back, and I want to make it clear, we are not going back. Not now, not ever.”
She added that the 2016 elections are an opportunity for Democrats to not back down to Republicans on this issue.
“They want to run on shutting down women’s access to cancer screenings, and shutting down women’s access to birth control, and shutting down women’s access to not-government-paid-for abortions, then they’re gonna have a real fight on their hands,” she said.
On those elections, however, Warren would not endorse a Democratic candidate yet.
