Wal-Mart will give half million employees pay raises

Wal-Mart's CEO told CNBC the world's biggest retailer is adjusting to the market and hiking wages for a large portion of its hourly staff.

Wal-Mart is raising wages for some 500,000 hourly employees because worker pride in the company is vital to running a good retail business, CEO Doug McMillon told CNBC on Thursday.
