Who knew that Huma wasn't on Twitter?

Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton's long-time aide and wife to former Congressman Anthony Weiner, joined Twitter Monday night. In her inaugural tweet, she seemingly addresses Republican candidate Ben Carson, who suggested on Sunday that he would not support a Muslim president.

"You can be a proud American, a proud Muslim, and proudly serve this great country," said Abedin, who is herself a practicing Muslim.

Nearly an hour later, Abedin's boss responded to the tweet and officially welcomed (and verified) Abedin's account.

Since joining Twitter, Abedin has already gained nearly 5,000 followers, including President Obama.
