As we get set for Mike Huckabee's big speech to the GOP convention, it's worth reminding ourselves that he and the man whose praises he's supposed to be signing haven't always been best buds.

Without further ado ... the Top Five Nastiest Things Mike Huckabee Has Said about Mitt Romney:

5) On Romney's Mr. Burns image: “People are looking for a presidential candidate who reminds them of the guy they work with rather than the guy who laid them off.” 4)On Romney's propensity to change his positions:  “And we thought nobody could fill John Kerry’s flip-flops.”3) On Romney saying he was a lifeling hunter before being found not to have a hunting license: "It would be like me saying I've been a lifelong golfer because I played putt-putt when I was 9 years old and I rode in a golf cart a couple of times."2) On Romney's religion: "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?"1) On why none of that matters and he's backing Romney anyway: “The sicker the patient, the less important is bedside manner. If you’ve just been diagnosed with a brain tumor, you honestly don’t care if your neurosurgeon is a jerk."

Oh and by the way, Huckabee has been the most prominent GOP defender lately of Todd Akin. In an email to supporters last week, he called out the "Republican establishment" for disowning the Missouri congressman, calling efforts to push him out of the race "disgraceful" and "sleazy." Of course, Romney himself f course, was part of the group that called on Akin to withdraw.

Just some stuff to keep in mind as you watch Huckabee talking about the need to elect Mitt Romney.
