The cost of Thanksgiving
In 2014, the average cost for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to feed 10 people was $49.41, according to an informal price survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation. It’s a 37-cent increase from last year; however, when adjusted for inflation, Americans are spending about 1% less than last year and practically the same amount since the survey started in 1986.
The foods that showed the greatest increases this year were sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie mix and dairy products.
