Rapper and marijuana activist Snoop Dogg launched an informational platform on Monday all about the cannabis industry.
The website, Merry Jane, will feature video and editorial content for anyone interested in pot. Snoop Dogg announced his latest endeavor with co-founder Ted Chung at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, just months after he invested in the medical marijuana delivery startup, Eaze.
The musician’s latest endeavor comes as more and more states consider legalizing marijuana. Colorado, Washington, Alaska, Oregon and Washington D.C. have already legalized medical and recreational pot use. Twenty other states, including California and New York, have legalized medical marijuana.
The first Merry Jane video focuses on medical marijuana, and features two U.S. Marine veterans discussing how medical cannabis helped treat their stress and anxiety after returning home.
“It’s the only medication that I’ve experienced that actually has beneficial results,” former Marine captain Mike Owen says in the video.
Other video content will included a cooking show on how to make edibles, a “deflowered” series that will focus on first-time experiences, and celebrity interviews. Snoop Dogg hinted that actor Seth Rogen and pop star Miley Cyrus are already on board.
Chung said brands and retailers will also have a presence on the site, and Merry Jane will provide guides to choosing the right brand.
The website will be available to everyone in October, but Snoop Dogg tweeted that he is giving away 420 sneak peeks a day until it launches publicly.
