On Thursday, CIA director John Brennan responded to the recently released Senate report on the CIA's past torture practices. Speaking from the CIA's headquarters in Langley, Virginia, Brennan addressed the Senate Intelligence Committee's report, which was released on Tuesday, and said that the CIA had been "unprepared" for its interrogation program and had been in "uncharted territory."

Senate Intelligence Committee chair Dianne Feinstein, who spearheaded the report, live tweeted during Brennan's remarks and offered rebuttals to many of his points. She repeatedly used the hashtag #ReadTheReport and on some occasions even referenced specific pages of the report in her tweets as she responded to Brennan's comments. The hashtag #ReadTheReport quickly garnered 2,000 tweets after Feinstein began using it, according to Twitter analytics tool Topsy.
