'Daily Show' alum Samantha Bee to launch her own late night show

For those of you lamenting the lack of female faces in late night comedy, never fear -- Samantha Bee is here.

For those of you lamenting the lack of female faces in late-night comedy, never fear -- Samantha Bee is here.

The veteran "Daily Show" correspondent, who some fans wanted to see replace Jon Stewart after he retires from his critically acclaimed stint on that Comedy Central institution in August, is taking her act to TBS.

Bee unveiled the first promo for her own show on Wednesday and took a direct shot at the lack of gender diversity in her field. Entering a gallery which includes the photos of all-male, mostly white late night talk show hosts like Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmell and her former co-star Stephen Colbert -- a bemused Bee sees something amiss.

"You know when I take a look at each piece individually I like it," she says in voice-over as she surveys the men. "But when I take a step back I feel like something's missing."

"Sausage?" an eager waiter entering from off screen offers. Bee is given the choice of "mild" sausage (cut to Jimmy Fallon), "extra mild" (cut to Carson Daly), "I have no idea what that one is" (cut to CBS newcomer James Corden) or an English banger (cut to "Daily Show" alum John Oliver).

Bee says she thinks she's "kind of done with sausages" and eventually exclaims I'm "female as f--k." One thing is for sure, she clearly isn't going to play nice in the increasingly competitive world of late night comedy.
