Razzie Awards names worst picture of the year

And the worst picture of the year goes to …

Kirk Cameron’s “Saving Christmas,” according to the 35th annual Razzie Awards.

The Golden Raspberry Awards, the parody awards show which presents “the Worst Achievements in Film” of the year, were announced ahead of the Academy Awards late Saturday. Kirk Cameron was the big winner (loser?) of the Razzies, racking up worst picture, worst actor, worst screenplay and worst screen combo.  ”Saving Christmas,” the movie in which Kirk Cameron plays himself, only has a 1/5 star rating on IMDb; on Rotten Tomatoes you’re looking at a sad 0% tomatometer rating.

Other honorees of the evening were Michael Bay, who won worst director for “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” “Annie,” which won for worst remake, rip-off or sequel, Cameron Diaz: worst actress for “The Other Woman and Sex Tape,” Megan Fox: worst supporting actress for “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and Kelsey Grammer who earned worst supporting actor for several of his 2014 films.

The first-annual Razzie Redeemer Award, aka the Redeemer Award, was given to Ben Affleck for redeeming himself in his “Gone Girl” role after formerly winning a Razzie for “Gigli.”

Sunday’s 87th Annual Academy Awards, hosted by actor Neil Patrick Harris, airs at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.
