Politicians react to crisis in Ukraine


“There is a strong belief that Russia’s action is violating international law” by sending troops into Crimea, President Obama said on Tuesday.

Those comments come just hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a press conference during which he downplayed Russia’s intentions in the region.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are sounding the alarm, calling on the White House to hold Russia accountable. Republicans in particular are criticizing President Obama for being too passive in responding to the crisis.
