One suspect in the Boston bombings was shot and killed after a violent rampage through the city’s suburbs early Friday as the FBI conducted a massive manhunt for the second suspect—his younger brother—who fled in a stolen black Mercedes SUV, and is heavily armed. Authorities are looking for as many as two others described as possible accomplices.
The entire Boston area remains on lockdown. In the early hours of Friday morning, authorities ordered residents to stay indoors. They also suspended buses, taxis and train services. A no-fly zone was in place over the town of Watertown and officials said they were closing in on the fugitive—19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev—who is believed to still be in the area.
