A grand jury voted Wednesday not to indict New York City police officer Daniel Pantaleo in the apparent chokehold death of Staten Island man Eric Garner last July. Garner's death was captured on video.

The decision came just over a week after a St. Louis County grand jury decided not to indict white police officer Darren Wilson for the August shooting death of unarmed black teen Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

Within minutes of the grand jury announcement, the hashtags #EricGarner and #Icantbreathe were trending on Twitter nationwide. See how politicians, activists and celebrities reacted to the decision on social media.
