David Letterman hosted NBC News’ Brian Williams on his late night show Tuesday, May 15, where the pair spoke about the killing of Osama bin Laden, gay marriage, and other topics.

Letterman expressed disbelief that President Obama hasn’t received more kudos for the killing of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the 9/11 terrorist attack on the United States.

Osama bin Laden is gunned down by Barack Obama, displaying great courage and great intelligence. What more do you want to lead your country than that kind of courage and that kind of intelligence?… What more do we want this man to do for us?

Williams, who hosted an interview with the president on the one-year anniversary of the death of bin Laden, recalled how happy the country was the day the news was revealed and how he got the call: “You should be in the chair.”
