Since he left "The Daily Show," comedian Jon Stewart has grown out his beard, advocated for 9/11 first responders on Capitol Hill and most recently, prepared to open an animal sanctuary with his wife on their farm in New Jersey.
Jon and Tracey Stewart’s 12-acre Bufflehead Farm will be the fourth location for the organization Farm Sanctuary, which aims to protect animals from factory farming. There are already four pigs on the Stewarts’ sanctuary, and four sheep are expected to arrive soon.
The two were honored at a Farm Sanctuary gala on Saturday for their service to the organization.

Both have previously been advocates for animal welfare. Tracey, a former veterinary technician, is the author of a new book, “Do Unto Animals: A Friendly Guide to How Animals Live, and How We Can Make Their Lives Better,” in which she speaks about how caring for animals be beneficial for the human population.
Jon previously criticized New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie for vetoing a bill that would ban pig gestation crates in the state on "The Daily Show." He also had Farm Sanctuary president Gene Baur on the show in August to talk about the organization, promote his book “Living the Farm Sanctuary Life” and to discuss the benefits of being Vegan.
Tracy Stewart is vegan, and according to The New York Times, Jon Stewart has recently cut meat out of his diet.
