Georgia executes man who killed teen neighbor girl during 1996 burglary

JACKSON, Ga. — A Georgia inmate convicted of the fatal shooting of a woman during a 1996 crime spree had his request for a stay of execution rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday — hours before he received a lethal injection.
