First lady Michelle Obama joined social scrapbooking site Pinterest Wednesday as part of her husband’s re-election campaign. She started with three Pinterest boards dedicated to the following: Father’s Day, Around the White House, and Great Memories.
Pinterest allows members to share favorite photos and other images, either original or found around the Web. Clothing, food, and home decor are common themes. The first lady’s Pinterest page so far is mostly comprised of family photos.
Her Pinterest account is run by the Obama 2012 campaign staff, while original posts are signed off with her initials, “-mo.”
Obama joins her husband, Vice President Joe Biden (who has a board on the Barack Obama page), and Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Pinterest. Romney, who let her activity on the site lapse over the last five weeks, added several new images yesterday, including a new cupcakes recipe and several photos of kids along the campaign trail.
