Donald Trump hasn’t read the Iran deal he’s slamming

Presidential candidate Donald Trump hasn’t actually read the “ridiculous” Iran deal he’s skewering and instead read the news coverage of it, the real estate tycoon turned Republican candidate said Wednesday.

“I have seen the deal, I have seen it broken down in every newspaper you can imagine, and I have I think I know the deal quite well because other people, I assume, are you know going into it in great detail,” Trump told “Morning Joe” during a phone interview on Wednesday morning. “I have seen every newspaper article you can, I have seen the good points and the bad points and the good points are not very strong, that I can tell you.”

The Iran deal can be read here; it is 159 pages long.

In the same phone interview, Trump eviscerated the very media he’s reading for not being trustworthy.

“One thing I have learned is how dishonestly, really dishonest the media – some of it, some of it’s fantastic and some of it I have a lot of respect for, but some of the political media – I’m used to dealing with the financial media, and I get along with it really well – some of the political media is very dishonest,” he said. “They don’t want to print the truth, they don’t want to say what you said, they don’t want to say what you mean, they know what you said, they know what you mean and they put it in totally different words.”

Trump said that the media has misconstrued his claim that some Mexican immigrants are criminals by not noting that he blames the Mexican government for this.

“I said the government is, Mexico is sending, Mexico is sending,” he said on ‘Morning Joe.’ “Illegal immigrants are causing tremendous problems coming in.”
