The Army found a new and unusual way to celebrate its 237th birthday today: 5,000 camouflage cupcakes were parked today at the Pentagon courtyard... yes, a cupcake tank.

Local favorite Georgetown Cupcakes (featured on the TLC show "D.C. Cupcakes") donated the treats, which included salted caramel, red velvet, peanut butter fudge, lava fudge, and vanilla buttercream flavors.

The cupcake tank weighed in at more than 2,500 lbs., including more than 200 lbs. of camouflage icing. And, yes, the tank is equipped with an air cannon, so it is capable of shooting... cupcakes.

And since a warm June day and cupcake icing don’t make a healthy combination, Georgetown Cupcakes also sent along an additional 1,500 “Army Seal” cupcakes so no one would be tempted to taste the sugary monstrosity.
