Carly Fiorina fired up: 'Game on'

The presidential candidate declared "the race has just started."

Charged with newfound confidence coming off as the big winner at last week's "happy hour" GOP debate, Carly Fiorina declared on Sunday "the race has just started," and touted a boost in her support.

"It's game on," the presidential candidate said on "Fox News Sunday."

Fiorina stood out Thursday -- even as a tier-two candidate in the first GOP debate -- with articulate attacks on Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and strong responses to questions on Iran and the economy; Ohio Republicans told msnbc she appeared "prepared" and "didn't go off on tangents."

“It was a big night for me,” Fiorina said Sunday. “Only 40% of Republicans had heard my name. … There’s been an uptick in financial support, in support generally.”

FIorina's team has been on the go in the recent months, with a jam-packed schedule of campaign stops and interviews with the press. The most recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll showed Fiorina with the third-lowest name recognition in the field; 36%, said they didn’t know who she was.

Following the debate, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO appeared on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" and said her next move is to keep talking to the American people and campaigning every day, adding that "a lot of people discovered last night more than one woman running for president."
