Candidates in key races make final Election Day push

Tuesday’s midterm elections are the most costly in our nation’s history, with spending estimated to exceed $4.2 billion. Last-minute polls heading into Election Day predict Republicans are within striking distance of regaining control of the Senate as they bolster their numbers in the House. 

Still, with several races statistically too close to call, every vote will count on Nov. 4. Here we chronicle the last-minute spending and volunteer mobilization efforts being made by candidates in the most hotly contested races around the country. Their message is clear: The time to talk is over. The time to get out the vote is now.
