It has been described as an intelligence jackpot....the documents, hard drives and other items seized in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.But one item is still missing, at least for some: a final photo that confirms the Al Qaeda founder is dead.While that photo does exist, there are signs of a split within the Obama administration over its release.  Press Secretary Jay Carney  called the images "gruesome" and potentially "inflammatory", while CIA director Leon Panetta expressed strong support for distributing them. read more

The White House is now pulling back from its initial account of the raid that led to Osama bin Laden's death. New details of the Al Qaeda leader's final moments surfaced yesterday, as Obama administration officials clarified their story. W.H. Press Secretary Jay Carney walked back claims that one of bin Laden's wives was used as a human shield. He said the woman actually rushed the American assaulter and was shot in the leg but not killed. The White House also said bin Laden himself was not armed but showed signs of resistance. read more
