 President Obama is in New York City today for the United Nations General Assembly.  Following meetings on Libya and a one-on-one with the Chairman of the country's new transitional council, the President will shift his focus to Afghanistan...scheduling a visit with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.  The President's trip comes a day after unveiling his long-awaited deficit reduction plan, outlining savings of roughly $3.6 trillion over the next ten years. read more

 This morning, President Obama will speak in the White House Rose Garden, where he’s expected to unveil his plan to cut the national debt, while proposing a change to the tax system that would force millionaires to pay more. The President is expected to introduce roughly $3 trillion in savings this morning, in addition to the approximately $1 trillion in cuts already called for under the debt ceiling deal enacted in August. read more
