Iowa on the Republican side traditionally hasn’t mattered that much, but on the Democratic side it has. If you look at what happened with John Kerry and Barack Obama, Iowa really gave them momentum and elevated them. And I think it could happen if Newt Gingrich or Rick Perry could somehow pull off a win in Iowa – which I think is within the realm of possibility although not likely – then it becomes a real race. read more
