Back in November, Joe went head to head with Council on Foreign Relations Adjunct Senior Fellow Dan Senor about Jon Huntsman's showing in the New Hampshire primary. Senor predicted that Huntsman would stay in the single digits and place no better than third in the Granite State. Joe challenged his statement, arguing that the former Utah governor would do better. They made a bet and shook on it: Loser has to take out the winner's entire family out to a fancy steak dinner at The Prime Grill in New York City. Looking at the menu, it won't be cheap. 2012 GOP candidate Jon Huntsman: “Let’s face the mathematical reality here. We’ve actually got to convince people who supported Barack Obama last time to support us if we’re going to win the presidency. That means you’re going to have to get some Independents. That means you’re going to have to get even some Democrats. So what I love about the New Hampshire primary is you can come here and you can get Republicans, you can get Independents, maybe even pick up a few Democrats. read more

Huntsman signed on at the start, before Obama had shown what kind of leader he would be... Besides which, can’t a person exert more influence on the inside than out? And must he agree with a country’s leader on all matters to take on a specific assignment? ... Romney got along fine with the Democrats who dominated the Massachusetts Legislature when he was governor. Deservedly, he brags about that. read more
