Innovation is the “constant” of our lives, New York Times Magazine editor Hugo Lindgren writes in the publication’s newest issue.
This week’s special edition-titled “Who Made That?”-is devoted to innovation and its assorted mysteries. It reveals who invented prom and the guitar solo.
“Nobody has to plan obsolescence anymore; it just happens,” Lindgren writes.
“What we were looking to do here was really to look at the basic fixtures of life and where they came from. A lot of them changed constantly. Cat videos 10 years ago were not things that we would be talking about on this show,” Lindgren said Friday on Morning Joe.
Check back later today for a web-exclusive greenroom interview with Lindgren on what it means to be innovative.
