A fresh wave of NATO airstrikes hit Tripoli, as explosions rocked the base of Libyan leader Colonel Moammar Khaddafy last night. In response to the intensified bombings, Khaddafy is reportedly on the run and hiding in hospitals. According to the British papers, The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph, a senior UK official says that Khaddady is “increasingly paranoid” and is moving from hospital to hospital - targets NATO would avoid bombing.

Libya is taking center stage at the G-8 Summit in France. French President Nicolas Sarkozy is expected to urge President Obama to deploy more warplanes to target Khaddafy loyalists, but Obama has so far refused to up American participation in combat operations.
