There are new details about Osama bin Laden’s personal handwritten journals recovered by the Navy Seal team in the raid that led to the Al Qaeda leader’s death.

According to senior U.S. officials, the journals contained bin Laden’s plots to secretly insert Al Qaeda’s operatives into the United States. Bin Laden also reportedly woke up every morning to come up with ideas on how to attack the U.S.

Officials also say that in the writings, bin Laden wanted to inflict mass casualties to get the attention of the American government.

The journal did not apparently reveal any specific plans for attacks.
