Yesterday was something of an honorary Jersey day on Morning Joe with Gov. Chris Christie on in the 7 a.m. hour and then Little Steven on during the 8 a.m. hour.

Joe and Mika talked with Van Zandt about his new show “Lillyhammer,” “The Sopranos”, remembering Clarence Clemons and his upcoming tour with the Boss and the E Street Band.

It was awesome.

Then Louis and I spoke with Van Zandt in the green room a few minutes later just because it’s not every day that Little Steven drops by the msnbc studios.

Hear us ask him about his inspirations, what he’s been listening to lately (Norwegian folk music), and about working with Joey Ramone’s brother, Mickey, on a collection of songs Joey recorded before he died in 2001.
