United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice withdrew her name from the Sec. of State nomination pool last night, after weeks of attacks against false information that she delivered on the Sunday talk shows following the Benghazi attacks.

In an interview with Brian Williams last night, Rice explained that the shows had originally asked for Sec. of State, Hillary Clinton, who had declined after what Rice called an “incredibly grueling week.”

This wasn’t fatigue, this was politics, according to Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough.

“I’m sure she was tired, we all get tired. She works around the clock,” he said. “But you know what she was doing.”

“That’s the political experience,” he said. “The pros know when to step aside.”

When the White House asks its officials to do a “favor," Scarborough said, only the best politicians know when to say no: “It’s the eager ones who jump out front and the smart ones that slowly fade into the background,” he said. “She wanted to help the president, she wanted to help the White House.”

Many expect Sen. John Kerry to receive the nomination now that Rice is out.
