Obama's trustworthiness takes hit in new poll

A mere four out of 10 individuals think President Obama can manage the federal government effectively, according to a new poll.

For the first time in recent polling, a clear majority of the country has a negative view of President Obama's trustworthiness.

More than half--53%--of Americans think the president is not honest, according to a new CNN/ORC poll released this week. And only four out of 10 individuals think Obama can manage the federal government effectively.

Fifty-six percent of the public says he is both not a person they "admire" and not agreeable on issues concerning the country.

More positively, though, 71% of the individuals polled said Obama is "likeable."

With these numbers, "you’ve really lost control of your own political destiny," Steve Schmidt, msnbc political analyst, said on Tuesday's Morning Joe.
