Mike Barnicle says “People don’t care if you’re rich; they just don’t want to be poor”

Barnicle knocks it out of the park with this observation:

Mike Barnicle: “I thought that the underlying theme of the speech is going to be the underlying current of American life and politics next year. And it’s the fairness issue. People have a sense that something has gone off the trolley tracks over the last 10 or 12 years or maybe even longer. And it’s the fairness issue; things just aren’t fair. I don’t think your average person cares whether you’re rich; they just don’t want to be poor. And [Obama] touched on that, and that’s the track they’re going to take in the campaign obviously, and I think it could be a successful track.”
