Today’s primary day in South Carolina, and what a crazy ride it’s been.

I decided to take a walk around a primary polling location in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Goose Creek is a town of roughly 36,000 residents (thank you Wikipedia) about 30 minutes northwest of downtown Charleston.

That’s enough distance to get away from the glitz and glam of King Street and the stately mansions lining the Battery.

Goose Creek is located in Berkeley County, and in 2008 John McCain won the county by 56 percent, with 36,205 people voting for him.

Goose Creek has a fairly strong military presence, with the Naval Weapons Station just on the outskirts of town, not far from Goose Creek High School.
