Did Newt insult S.C. crowd over money comment?

Joe Scarborough: "So Newt’s justification to the good people of South Carolina is: ‘I was so rich selling access, making a 30-minute speech and getting $65,000, that I made twice as much money as you did, truck driver, in an entire year, so why would I need to be a lobbyist? All I really did was grant access.’…Is it a smart thing to tell people in South Carolina that ‘I’m so rich I make $65K a speech…because of my former government work and so you don’t need to look at me as a lobbyist’?”
