Christmas holidays seem to always see an increase in international abduction cases. Children are out for holiday, visitations between parents take place, and kids disappear. Today I received 3 calls from parents. One mother's 4 year old child was taken to Indonesia. Another father called because his little girl is in Singapore finally, a man called who's 2 children had already been abducted once. Today they left the country again to go to South Africa on a vacation with the abductor. The State Department okayed the children's passport for the abductor and U.S. courts sanctioned the visit!

I wonder how many parents, like myself, approach the holidays wondering if they should buy presents for their abducted children. Will they be home for Christmas? Will our children be the topic of holiday conversation at every holiday get together as friends and family feel the lose of a child too? How many times must I pass Santa Clause in a mall and wish my Nadia was sitting on his lap...

The lose of a child deeply bruises the spirit of the holiday.
