November 22, 1998 letters continue to arrive from individuals all over the U.S. and other countries. Today I receivedn a large package of letters from children in a california 3rd grade class. I was amazed and broken hearted when reading these letters. These children were instructing me to contact the president. the faith of children is incredible. they really beleive that if a child is in danger the U.S. presidnet actually stops what he is doing to rescue that child. It breaks my heart to knnow that all those children who are following Nadia's plight will soon come too realize that our presidnet ddoes not have time for a child. What a horrible realization for innocent children to find out they can be carried off to a foreign country, abused and abandoned, and their president does not respond. I received a letter from Canada.... the author wrote: "Last night my two boys went trick - or treating and at every house they left a flyer all about Nadia, and how they could help us bring her home." I find it incredible that the world is responding and pouring out their support....not just individuals, but agencies too, from france, switzerland, belguim, canada, the UK and I am also receiving many letters from individuals who state they are from the middle east and want me t0 know that they support efforts to rescue Nadia. I find this particularly touching. I needed to know that not everyone in the middle east hated americans so much they took great pleassure in the torutre of a small child because it was american.
