November 5, 1998 After the events in D.C. yesterday, the one thing that keeps coming back in my mind over and over again, are the words of that D.C. Police Officer..." I will protect your rights as an America..." That has been so incredibly inspiring to me. So I tried to think of all the people that I feel have been true hero's tome in the past six years. These people never get attention, yet they have significantly help so many parents and children. Like the police officer, they have left a mark on my life and I admire deeply. Here are those people... Jim Preach, formerly of Washington Interpol Liz Yore, Formerly of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Gloria Nyberg, formerly with Child Quest International Reed Robertson, Formerly with FBI in Palm Beach, FL Gret Holtz, Formerly with the US mission in Damascus, Syria Pat Roush, left-behind-parent who has worked with legislators for years in improving laws. Violaine Delahais, left-behind parent. Responsible for pulling European countries together in an effort to combat parental kidnapping through the P.A.R.E.N.T. coalition Margaret McClain. Left-behind parent....who protested in front embassy and at age 50, was willing to physically defend another mother against physical acts of aggression by Saudis and refused to be intimidated by Hill & Knowlton Charles Goolsby producer for Voice of America, for educating parents and lending assistance regarding provisional arrest requests, and broadcasting pubic service announcements for left-behind- parents. Tim Hunter, Foreign Service Officer, locked out, for maintaining his sworn oath of office and integrity even after reprisals from the US government for revealing corruption on a federal level. Gustavo Zamora, who brings our babies home! David McClendon aka legally blind man who creates all the missing children's pages free for left-behind parents through the Lionshouse Children's home. Steve Nunnally aka Baddteddy, for his incredible online efforts to coordinate an editors coalition with 10 million people who work to find the children. Christa Brunst, US Assistant attorney's office/OH, for continued assistance to parents who need warrants. Pierce McGill, assistant in Senator Charles Robb's office (VA) - for making Nadia's resolution possible.
