Ohio, Ohio, Ohio! The 3/3 Preview

Updated

I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t at all surprised to see the legendary Ohio Players start chanting “O, H, I, O” in the middle of their jam session on live TV (eventually provoking this). I’m a native Buckeye (born the year of this performance), so I get the sudden, unprovoked desire to claim Ohio, especially in hard times. We’re not used to being the center of attention – except whenever there is a national election.

This upcoming (Super) Tuesday, Ohio will be central in a presidential race, this time for the Republican contenders. Melissa will take a good look at Ohio’s politics, and the reality on the ground in Youngstown with that city’s representative in the U.S. Congress, Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan. Also joining the conversation will be Kenneth Blackwell, who served the Ohio Secretary of State during the controversial 2004 presidential election; political analyst Bill Schneider; and the Reverend Al Sharpton, founder and president of the National Action Network, and host of msnbc’s “Politics Nation with Al Sharpton.”

We’ll also have conversations centering on education reform, protest politics, and motherhood. Also joining “MHP” this morning:

See you all at 10am ET! O-H!

ALSO: View all three of Melissa’s appearances on msnbc yesterday, after the jump. She explored education reform on “Morning Joe,” and commented on Rush Limbaugh’s (most recent) slut-shaming, directed at Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke.
