Palin: Enough with Syria, let’s bomb Obamacare

Updated

Sarah Palin is back and wants to talk some more about those so-called “death panels.”

“Enough of this foreign fiasco distraction,” the former Alaskan governor and vice presidential candidate wrote on her Facebook and Twitter accounts. “Get back to work. It is time to bomb Obamacare.”

Palin then links to a two-minute video uploaded to her PAC’s YouTube account that shows various media outlets accusing Palin of lying about the president’s “death panels”—a term first used by Palin in 2009 to describe the group of bureaucrats who would decide which Americans were “worthy of health care.”

The new SarahPAC video suggests that Palin was right about the existence of the president’s “death panels,” despite reports that continue to debunk that myth. A montage of conservative commentators—including, oddly enough, Stephen Colbert, who plays the part of an ultra-conservative on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report each night—is then stitched together with video footage of elderly and ailing Americans, President Obama, and a roaring bear.

Palin’s video is a reminder that many Republicans still have their eyes on the Affordable Care Act: Sens. Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, among others, will hold a Tea Party rally to support the defunding of Obamacare in Washington, D.C., Tuesday afternoon as lawmakers continue to weigh the possibility of military action in Syria.
