Mitt Romney brings his losing streak to Vegas

Maybe Mitt Romney just wanted to see someone else get beaten to a pulp for a change.

Maybe Mitt Romney just wanted to see someone else get beaten to a pulp for a change. And so he and wife, Ann, sat ringside at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas Saturday, watching Juan Manuel Marquez’s jaw-dropping KO of Manny Pacquiao.

Romney visited Pacquiao–a politician in the Philippines–in his dressing room before the fight to wish the boxer well. Several reports of the meeting say that according to Pacquiao's publicist Fred Sternburg, Romney began the conversation with: "Hello Manny. I ran for president. I lost."

But the losing Republican candidate apparently neglected to warn Pacquiao about his current streak when it comes to pro sports. Let's just say it: the man is a walking jinx.

>Ann Romney attends Game 4 of the World Series to cheer on the losing Detroit Tigers.

>The New York Jets, owned by Romney booster Woody Johnson, are barely scraping along as cries for Tebow increase (though to be fair, a playoff run may be possible).

>Mitt Romney falls short on the ‘Nascar vote’ despite having “some friends who are Nascar team owners”.

Apparently gone are Romney’s days of betting on big-dollar winners at Bain Capital.

And we all know how his biggest bet of all–a bet on himself–ended.

On the mat after the bell tolled.
