Where can I get the free patch that allows Personal Update to work in Office XP?
You must have Personal Update installed before you install this patch in order for it to work correctly. You can download it from the MSNBC Site. Follow these steps to install the patch:
- Go to install page. Be sure to close Outlook.
- Select "Run this program from its current location" and click on OK
- Click on Yes in each susequent dialog box until download is complete
- Open Outlook and go to the Outlook Today folder.
Follow these easy steps to uninstall:
- Go to your computers control panel ( Start | Settings | Control Panel)
- Click on Add/Remove Programs
- Select MSNBC Personal Update
- Click on the add/remove button

How do I refresh my headlines and news on the MSNBC Personal Update?
To refresh your MSNBC content, simply hit the refresh button
on the MSNBC Personal Update page. I’ve installed MSNBC Personal Update, but I can’t find the page?
You need to click on the Outlook Today in the Outlook Folder list or Outlook Bar to view the page. If you’d like to set MSNBC’s Personal Update as the page you see when you start your Microsoft Outlook 2000 program, you can by following these steps:
- While in Outlook 2000, go to Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options.
- In the box that says "Startup in this Folder", select Outlook Today
- Click on OK on the dialog boxes until they are all closed.

The page is set to default to the settings for your original Outlook Today page. This version of the MSNBC Personal Update does not have currently support changing those settings. This is a feature we anticipate adding in the next version.
