Next week, join us for a discussion of Beth Macy’s “Factory Man: How One Furniture Maker Battled Offshoring, Stayed Local- and Helped Save an American Town.”
 
This nonfiction narrative, that hit bookstores Tuesday, will hook readers as Macy portrays the effects of globalization on Bassett Furniture Co., a company that was once the world’s largest wood furniture manufacturer. This David and Goliath story is about how one furniture company battles China’s price rigging and the forces of globalization.
